So Why This, and Why Now?

When I knew I was going to be moving on from ASA several months ago, I started thinking about what the next phase of my career supporting the valuation profession would look like. And really, it came down to asking tough questions about what I’m passionate about in this space.

Having fought plenty of fights in Congress, at federal agencies, and in states from coast to coast I knew simply pivoting back to my roots in advocacy wasn’t the next step. I’m proud of what I helped accomplish for the profession, but there had to be other ways to keep giving back.

I helped lead a successful and thriving VPO for a decade and a half, and the constant challenge of organizational leadership is something that’s hard to replicate. In time, it might again be where I wind up. But this break has afforded me a chance to do something unique.

More than anything, I am passionate about everyone in the valuation profession thriving not just in delivering high-quality work to clients globally, but in finding ways to leverage the question of value into its own economy. And over the years when I’ve been asked how individual practitioners can find growth, I’ve surprised myself at just how many avenues I could open for someone who hasn’t spent the time finding them independently.

That’s why I landed on the concept of ValuSight – a business dedicated to helping every valuation professional discover what motivates and excites them in this space, and illuminating pathways for growth into a broad-based, Value Informed business.

At its core, ValuSight stands for the idea that valuation professionals have so much more to offer than a number or a range, and I see myself as a guide in helping anyone who’s interested in finding growth.

I am so excited to take this journey with each of you and look forward to engaging with this wonderful profession in a new way.
